Famous Last Words in Europe (by Michelle)

We had just spent 2.5 hours in the Musee Orsay and it was raining outside. We were all tired, hungry and cold when David said it . . .

"There must be some fast food around here somewhere."

I laughed and told David that after 5 months in Europe we should know better, but I didn't have an alternative idea so we headed on foot with umbrellas towards the Eiffel Tower with the hopes of randomly stumbling across some fast food along the way. Ha!

Now, don't think we were being choosy and expecting anything specific. We wanted only:
A. to sit down
B. to sit down inside
C. to spend less than US$100
A and B were easy enough to come by. Paris is full of the stereotypical Parisian cafes -- so romantic and charming and with the tastiest food
(I've heard), but with a family of 5 and the dollar being so weak right now . . . we kept walking.

An hour and a half later (we'd passed the Eiffel Tower -- "we'll come back kids once we get some food") . . . we were soaked and exhausted and almost crying when David looked up and started to laugh. We had to stop and take a picture of the name of the street. I don't know if in French this means what it meant to us in English, but it was perfect. 5 minutes later we finally found a panini shop that was just closing. They took pity on us and let us sit and eat inside. Renewed, we headed back to the Eiffel Tower.
