Our leaning tower of Eiffel (by Michelle)
No, the Eiffel Tower wasn't leaning, we were leaning. The very top floor of the Eiffel Tower was closed due to the stormy weather, but we noticed a patch of blue sky and braved the 2nd platform (it's the square around the tower about 1/3 up). We were lucky for a while; at 377 feet up you get a great view of Paris, but notice in the picture-- you can see the storm coming.
Soon we, and the 200 plus tourists, were all huddled on one side of the tower to avoid the cold, wet wind. (And I was wondering what happens if lightning strikes the Eiffel Tower.)
For fun we braved the windy side of the tower for a minute, but the wind was so strong you really did have to lean into it. Eva and I were laughing and had to duck into a safe corner. Already there was a young couple there, no doubt hoping for a romantic moment on the Eiff
el Tower, but they were laughing with us and said with an accent, "Your daughter will fly away!" We hid out with them for a minute until Eva and I could sneak back to the safer side. Certainly, it made for a fun and memorable time on the Eiffel Tower.
