David said that he had read that the Hermitage of San Miguel de Arretzinaga in Markina (Basque Country) had an interesting altarpiece with Mary and a stone formation. So I was expecting an altarpiece up front with some design made with stones. Boy, were we all surprised to open the church doors and see this. The 20+ foot high boulders dominated the whole church interior which was a hexagon with benches along the walls. Nestled in the middle was an almost cowering statue of Mary (a figurine really). Very interesting, and, according to the kids, sort of creepy.
