Home Fun (by Simon)

I bet that you're wondering what we do at home for fun. We don't watch TV much or have any neighborhood friends or have very many toys (mostly they are little Happy Meals toys), so we tend to make up our own games and fun.

The thing that we do the most is art. We have a studio in the basement where we do a lot of painting, sketching and watercolors. I like doing landscapes, while Alex does mostly still-lifes and abstract designs. We've done 2 art exhibits for the students. They said that they really liked them and they were surprised.

We als
o make up fun games like " Book Tower." We make the biggest building we can out of books and put a stuffed animal on the top, then we make it crash down. Sometimes we even put my camera inside and make a video with a view from the inside.

Another one of my favorites is coin rolling. You take a rug and make a ramp on the couch. Then we take a coin and roll it down and it goes onto ramps of books. It is really fun.

The latest fun game is called "Scarf Me." You take a scarf and stand in the midd
le of the living room and spin holding out the scarf. The others have to get past the scarf without getting hit.

Maybe you can try some of these fun games at your house, but be careful with the scarf game because it can be dangerous.

Rowan says "Your games look like fun. I'm going to try some with my friends. Maybe next time I see you we can play one of your games together."

Nathan says "The games you came up with are really cool. My favorite game right now is Jackpot 500. Do you know how to play that? And I play a lot of Egyptian War with my Mom. Our house isn't really big enough to play Scarf Me, but maybe we could play it at G'ma and G'dad's sometime."
