Restaurante Arrayanes (by Michelle)

The thing that the kids liked best about Granada was the Moroccan restaurant. Great exotic atmosphere, excellent food and not expensive. Possibly the tastiest hummus I've ever had (and frankly, I rarely like any hummus as much as my own -- how is that for modesty!), tagine (a stew like dish cooked in a funny clay pot that looks like a wizard hat), couscous heaven. The students told us later that we should have tried the mint lemonade. "Next time," we thought, but when we discovered that they would be closed on the day that we had planned to return with David's family, we tried to change our whole itinerary just so we could go to this restaurant, but it didn't work out. So sad. We'll have to look for a Moroccan place in the US. Las Vegas, maybe?

Although I LOVED the food I can't say that I loved it more than I love this picture. Notice David's cheesy mustache! (You may have to double click on it.) Now, you aren't going to believe me, but he didn't even have a mustache, so I have no idea how it magically appeared in this picture. Obviously, it is the magic of some Moroccan genie. The kids also got a real kick out of the fact that it looks like Dave has flames coming out of his head.
